GRANDVALIRA E-BIKE
This summer 2023 saw the launch of the Grandvalira E-bike project, offering more than 90km of trails and single tacks. Now we not only enjoy Grandvalira in winter, but also in summer and on e-bike, from Encamp to Pas de la Casa, passing through all the sectors of Grandvalira. And we, as always, leave from the door of the hostel. We love it!
GRANDVALIRA E-BIKE TRAILS
All the e-bike circuits in the Grandvalira resort have been signposted. Most of the circuits are circular, and there are also some more technical descents for more experienced riders. The routes are signposted according to difficulty:
40 km of green circuits, the easiest 30 km of blue circuits, which are a little more difficult 24 km of red and black circuits for the most expert and/or daring riders
The circuits are designed for e-bikes, and of course there are also charging points in all sectors. Oh, and also cleaning points with pressurised water, for the bike and for you, if you need it 😉 And also points with tools for basic repairs.
GRANDVALIRA E-BIKE PASS
Access to the resort is free, but if you want to take advantage of the open gondola lifts and save on batteries, there is an e-bike pass that includes 3 gondola lift rides in the Encamp (Funicamp), Canillo and Soldeu sectors. The price is €21.50 for adults and free for children up to 5 years old.
The lifts can be taken from 9am to 4:45pm.
Highly recommended. You can buy your bike pass HERE

Joaquim Rodríguez Oliver, known to all as “Purito,” organizes every year “La Purito” in Andorra, a cyclo-tourism event that covers the main mountain passes in Andorra. In general, La Purito takes place on the first Sunday of August. La Purito is famous for following the same route as the legendary queen stage of the 2015 Vuelta a España, the eleventh stage, considered by many as the hardest stage of The Vuelta. That year, Purito finished it, but the stage victory went to Mikel Landa. Likewise, Purito has designed 3 versions of this stage for “La Purito” in Andorra to make it accessible to all cyclists. Just choose your challenge. Check out the different La Purito routes in Andorra. More information on La Purito and registration here. Although only 5 editions have been held, La Purito is already a well-established cycling event in Andorra and one of the most awaited in the cycling calendar.
In 2019, Andorra hosted La Vuelta a España on September 1st. On September 1st, we were able to witness in Andorra the 9th stage of La Vuelta, which was entirely in Andorra. A must-see event in Andorra for cycling enthusiasts, to see the best professional cyclists in the world up close. And undoubtedly, a route to try, even in stages, for cycling lovers.
In 2021, the Tour de France passed through Andorra. On July 11, 2021, Andorra la Vella was the stage for the end of the 15th stage of the Tour de France 2021. This stage started from Céret, and the best cyclists in the world arrived in Andorra via the Pas de la Casa (border between France and Andorra) to reach Andorra la Vella, passing in front of our house, the Mountain Hostel Tarter.
American Sepp Kuss from Jumbo-Visma won this 15th stage of the Tour de France, arriving in Andorra, his home, after a spectacular escape. Nevertheless, Tadej Pogacar from UAE Team Emirates renewed his yellow jersey in Andorra.

2. Snowshoeing through the Vall d’Incles in Andorra
It is not the adrenaline, but it’s the majesty of the landscape that makes this an unforgettable experience. You do not need to have experience or a great physical form. It is only a walk, but through a splendid, monumental valley, and beautiful in winter. It’s a must be.
The Incles Valley is a few meters far away from the Mountain Hostel Tarter, very easy access from the hostel. If you want to go your way, you only have to rent snowshoes for € 10 a day. Or if you prefer to sign up for one of our outings, with a guide, you can do it from € 45 per day. + INFO HERE
3. Cross-country skiing or splitboarding in Andorra
If snowshoeing is a small thing for you, and if you have a medium-high level of skiing or snowboarding, then yes or yes you have to try cross-country skiing in Andorra, or go for a walk with the splitboard.
If you do not have much knowledge about snow, types of snow, and the risk of avalanches, or do not know the area, we recommend going out with a guide. And we know the best guides in Andorra. Just tell us and we’ll arrange it. To reach the highest peaks of Andorra and to run by virgin faces, is a gem. + INFO HERE
4. “Sa Terrasseta”, the best terrace in Andorra
After an exahusting day in the mountains, we recommend you stop by “Sa Terrasseta”, the hostel’s terrace.
Our food truck serves the best hamburgers in ttown. The best place to get your strength back and have a drink, in the open air, in the middle of the mountain with wonderful views of Grandvalira and the mountains.
